Safe water is the reason our kiosks exist, so it is worth saying plainly what happens to the water before it reaches your jerrycan. Treatment happens in two places, and testing happens all the time.
Step one: treated at the main kiosk
Water from the borehole is dosed with chlorine and passed through a 5-micron filter at the main kiosk of each system. It is then stored in a 10,000-litre tank before the main line carries it to the other kiosks.
Step two: purified again at every kiosk
Each kiosk has its own mini purifier, so the water is treated once more just before it comes out of the tap. That second step matters on a long main line, where water travels some distance before it is sold.
Tested, not assumed
- Our water quality officer takes routine samples at our sites.
- Each kiosk has a trained attendant who looks after the taps and the area around them.
- Ask us for our latest test report from the contact form.
Metered, so problems show early
Every litre sold is metered, and the readings are reconciled every day. A sudden drop in sales at one kiosk tells us to check the line, so quality and reliability are watched together.
If something looks or tastes wrong
