In August 2026, our five kiosks in Kitgum and Paicho sold 917 cubic metres of treated water. That is the most we have sold in a single month. It works out at about 29,600 litres a day, or roughly 1,480 jerrycans of 20 litres.
Month by month
Sales have grown since Paicho joined Kitgum in May, apart from a dip in June.
| Month (2026) | Kitgum | Paicho | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| April | 385 m³ | – | 385 m³ |
| May | 384 m³ | 467 m³ | 851 m³ |
| June | 339 m³ | 445 m³ | 784 m³ |
| July | 426 m³ | 468 m³ | 894 m³ |
| August | 438 m³ | 479 m³ | 917 m³ |
What the numbers mean
From January to August 2026 we sold about 5.0 million litres. At 20 litres per person per day, that is enough for about 1,500 people to collect their daily water from our kiosks in August.
Every figure comes from our own meters. Each kiosk records opening and closing readings every day, a supervisor reviews and approves them, and 99.8% of kiosk-days from January to August were open and recorded. When a kiosk is closed, we log it instead of skipping the day.
What is being built
Paicho is still adding kiosks and yard taps, and a second Gulu system at Awach is in development. Each new connection on an existing source adds sales without another borehole.
